Day 1
We ended Genesis 5, and now we are starting Genesis 6! In preparation for the lessons to come, let’s read all of Genesis 6 to your Tiny Arrows!
Day 2
As there became more and more people on earth, the sons of God saw that the women were very beautiful! They took any woman they wanted to be their wife! This went against God’s plan! Only humans were suppose to marry humans! Today let’s read Genesis 6:1-2 and then play freeze tag! Take turns being the human or the son of God. The son of God is “it” and after they catch their “wife” have your child freeze until then next game.
When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. – Genesis 6:1-2 NIV
Day 3
Another word for God’s Spirit is God’s breath! When God made Adam He made him from dust then breathed on him to give him life! Today let’s read Genesis 6:3 and blow gently on your Tiny Arrow. Now let’s ask our Tiny Arrows where can we not breathe? Where is the one place that has no air for us to live? The water! God is already talking about the flood! Humans have 120 more years until they will no long we be able to breathe! Now let’s see how long our Tiny Arrow can hold their breath!
Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal, their days will be a hundred and twenty years.” – Genesis 6:3 NIV
Day 4
The children the sons of God had were called Nephilim! They were the heroes of old! They were tall and strong like Goliath! Today let’s read Genesis 6:4 then ask your Tiny Arrow who their favorite superhero is. Could their favorite super hero defeat Goliath? Now let’s act out your Tiny Arrow playing their favorite super hero and you being Goliath! Who wins!?!
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. – Genesis 6:4 NIV
Day 5
The Lord saw that not only was everyone wicked on the outside but they were wicked on the inside too! In their hearts they only thought about doing bad things all the time! Today let’s read Genesis 6:5 and color the heart black then place it on top of the world.
The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. – Genesis 6:5 NIV
Day 6
Tell your Tiny Arrow what regret is, then ask them if they have ever regretted something. Did they regret not eating all their dinner to get desert? Did they regret not being obedient and getting punished. Did they regret getting vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate. Now picture a father regretting he had a child because of how naughty he was. Because of their wickedness and that their thoughts were evil. The Lord regretted all the people he had made. He was troubled about creation. Today let’s read Genesis 6:6 then use a pencil and draw a person. Then after we are done drawing, erase them with an eraser. God could not use a pencil eraser to erase what He had made, but He would do something different to take action.
The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. – Genesis 6:6 NIV
Day 7
Because the people were so bad the animals were going to be affected too! God wanted to wipe the whole world clean with water. Today’s let’s read Genesis 6:7 and take our coloring page and either color or paint over it with blue.
So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth human race I have created — and with them the animals. The birds and all the creatures that move along the ground — for I regret that I have made them.“ – Genesis 6:7 NIV
Day 8
Even though everyone around him was wicked, Noah was different. He was so different that he found favor in the eyes of the Lord! Today let’s read Genesis 6:8 then find Noah in the picture. Even amongst the busyness of the world, God spots Noah!
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. – Genesis 6:8 NIV
Day 9
Noah was righteous! Noah was blameless! Noah walked faithfully with God! Today let’s read Genesis 6:9-10 and color the coloring page and tell our Tiny Arrows ways that we can be righteous, blameless and to walk faithfully with God!
This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. – Genesis 6:9-10 NIV
Day 10
Even though Noah was righteous, the earth was full of violence! Today let’s read Genesis 6:11 then make a town or tower with blocks then have your child smash it!
Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. – Genesis 6:11 NIV
Day 11
God was here from the beginning, and He saw how bad the earth had become! Today let’s read Genesis 6:12 and find pair of binoculars. You can use a real one or make one with a paper towel roll, or even a piece of paper rolled up. You can even have your child decorate it. Now show your child a picture, from a book or something on the wall. When they are using both eyes they can see the whole picture clearly. Now let’s look at it through the real or homemade binoculars. They are focused only at one small section at a time. This is how we see a lot of the time. We are focused on certain things. Now look at the picture again without using the binoculars. This is how God sees. Everything. He can see how the whole earth is doing because He is not focusing only on one minor detail, but how everything fits and moves and reacts all at once. Amazing!
God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. – Genesis 6:12 NIV
Day 12
Has anyone ever told you something? Has anyone ever told you something that affected other people? One day God told something to Noah that affected the whole world! God told His plan to Noah of getting rid of the wickedness in the world. Today let’s read Genesis 6:13 and ask our Tiny Arrows to share something important to them with you, and/or vice versa.
So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and earth.” – Genesis 6:13 NIV
Day 13
Noah had to find wood from all over to build the ark. But he also had the strength and character formed from his father and this grandfathers before him. Each tree that represented each man before him helped to build his relationship with God! Today let’s read Genesis 6:14 and make a boat! You can even take the popsicle stick trees from a few weeks ago with all the peoples names on them (if you still have them) and use those to build a boat! Coat them with glue and stick them onto paper!
So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. – Genesis 6:14 NIV
Day 14
God told Noah to make the ark 300 cubits, thats about 450 feet long! Today let’s read Genesis 6:15 and go for a walk! Talk a walk that shows our Tiny Arrows that distance! Hint you can use the Map feature on your phone is easily calculate the distance of 450 feet!
This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high. – Genesis 6:15 NIV
Day 15
God told Noah to build an ark then put a roof on it! But He asked him to make a space between the boat and the roof that would be 18 inches. It was like a window all the way around! Today let’s read Genesis 6:16 and talk about roofs! Ask your Tiny Arrow if they know what a roof is. Then walk around or show them pictures of different types of roofs, etc; shingles, thatch, slate and tin!
Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit high all around. – Genesis 6:16 NIV
Day 16
God had Noah put a roof on top of the ark and He had him put a door on the side! Today let’s read Genesis 6:16 look at all the doors inside your house. Start with all the doors on the inside, then look at the front door. Ask your Tiny Arrow how the front door is different. The inside doors lead you to other places on the inside, but this door leads you outside!
Put a door in the side of the ark. – Genesis 6:16 NIV
Day 17
Today let’s color the ark so far! We have a long boat, a roof and a door!
Day 18
God had Noah make different floors or decks in the ark! The ark had three floors! Today let’s read Genesis 6:16 then ask your Tiny Arrows how many floors are in their house. If they count the attic, then how many? Walk around your house and tell our Tiny Arrows the name of each room and its purpose. Have them think of a two story house, either their own or a friends. What is on the first floor? What is on the second? If we count the attic as a floor, what is in the attic? If Noah had three floors in his ark, he could fit a lot of rooms, and a lot of animals to go in each room! Now ask your Tiny Arrow which animal they would put in each room in their house!
And make lower, middle and upper decks. – Genesis 6:16 NIV
Day 19
God told Noah that he would destroy the earth by causing a flood! That’s why Noah needed to build a big boat! Today let’s read Genesis 6:17 then talk about floods! Tell your Tiny Arrow about a flood you have seen or experienced, or one you have heard about. Explain what a flood is, and what can cause it.
I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. – Genesis 6:17 NIV
Day 20
Out of all the people in the whole world God choose to save Noah and his family! Today let’s read Genesis 6:18a and tell our Tiny Arrows a time or way God has saved us! Then let’s sing, He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands!
But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark. – Genesis 6:18a NIV
Day 21
God told Noah that him and his whole family would be saved! Today let’s read Genesis 6:18b and cut out and color the ark and tape it to a popsicle stick! Bring out the Noah, Japheth, Shem and Ham puppets we made (or remake them) and put the puppets in the ark!
But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. – Genesis 6:18b NIV
Day 22
Today let’s recap! Let’s ask your Tiny Arrow some questions.
1. Why didn’t God just save Noah?!
2. Why did God tell Noah to build an ark?
3. Why was their going to be a flood?
4. Why did God save Noah, Noah’s wife, his three sons and their wives?
Day 23
God not only wanted to save Noah’s family, but the animals too! Today let’s read Genesis 6:19 and ask your Tiny Arrow to draw a boy and girl of their favorite animal. Then ask them why there had to be a male and female of every creature.
You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. – Genesis 6:19 NIV
Day 24
God wanted to save two of every kind of bird! Today let’s read Genesis 6:20a and ask your Tiny Arrow to name as many birds as they can. Then look at pictures of different birds! Penguins in the Arctic, parrots from South America, geese from Canada, and ostrich’s from Africa!
Two of every kind of bird. – Genesis 6:20a NIV
Day 25
God wanted to save two of every kind of animal! Today let’s read Genesis 6:20b and ask our Tiny Arrows to name as many animals as they can! Then look at pictures of different animals! Polar bears from Alaska, kangaroos from Australia, foxes from North America, and lions from Africa.
Two… of every kind of animal. – Genesis 6:20b NIV
Day 26
God wanted to save two of every kind of creature! Today let’s read Genesis 6:20c and ask your Tiny Arrow to name as many creatures as they can! Then let’s look a pictures of different creatures! Komodo dragons from Indonesia, butterflies from South America, ladybugs from Europe and stick bugs from India!
and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. – Genesis 6:20c NIV
Day 27
God wanted Noah to get food too! Noah had to get enough food for all the animals and all the people, and he wasn’t sure how long it would be, or how much everyone would eat! Today let’s read Genesis 6:21 and take a look in your pantry! Explain to your Tiny Arrow what you eat on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis that comes from your pantry. Then tell them how you have to go grocery shopping so many times to fill it! Now make a grocery list! If your Tiny Arrow had to buy or find enough food for them to last a month, what would it be and how much of it would they need?
You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them. – Genesis 6:21 NIV
Day 27
Today let’s try to match the food that each animal will eat!
Day 28
Even though God asked Noah to do a big thing, Noah did it! Everything God asked him to do, he did it. Today let’s read Genesis 6:22 and pray! Let’s ask God to give us discernment, strength and courage to do everything He tells us too!
Noah did everything just as God commanded him. – Genesis 6:22 NIV
Day 29
Today let’s remember everything God told Noah to do as we color and write in the missing names!
Day 30
Today let’s reread Genesis 6 and remember the activities and verses we learned!
