Day 1
We ended Exodus 1, and now we are starting Exodus 2! In preparation for the lessons to come, let’s read all of Exodus 2 to your Tiny Arrows!
Day 2
There was once a family from the tribe of Levi who had a baby boy! There was still a law trying to harm the baby boys, so they hid him for three months! Today let’s read Exodus 2:1-2 and cut out and color the Moses coloring page! After your Tiny Arrow has colored it, have them hide the picture in a safe place for three seconds. Save the coloring pages for the next few lessons!
Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. – Exodus 2:1-2 NIV
Day 3
Moses’ parents couldn’t hide him any longer! So his mom put him in a basket and placed him in the river. Today let’s read Exodus 2:3 and color the Nile River coloring page and the Moses’ mom coloring page and pretend to have her place the baby in the basket by the river! Save this for the next few lessons!
But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. – Exodus 2:3 NIV
Day 4
While baby Moses was in the river, his sister waited nearby to see what would happen to him. Today let’s read Exodus 2:4 and cut out and color the Miriam coloring page, then place it by the river and ask your Tiny Arrow what she sees! The baby in the basket! Save this for the next few lessons!

Day 5
While Moses’ sister was watching him, a princess came by! Pharaoh’s daughter came to the river to bathe and saw him! She even had her attendant go get him for her! Today let’s read Exodus 2:5 and cut out and color the Pharaoh’s daughter coloring page. Then have your Tiny Arrow act out her seeing the baby on the river from the previous coloring page. Save this for the next few lessons!
Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it. – Exodus 2:5 NIV
Day 6
Pharaoh’s daughter found baby Moses! She knew that it was one of the Hebrew babies, but she still felt sorry for him! Today let’s read Exodus 2:6 and grab the Pharaoh’s daughter coloring page and have your Tiny Arrow pretend to have her pick up the basket and act out her finding the baby! Save these coloring page for the next few lessons!
She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said. – Exodus 2:6 NIV
Day 7
Miriam, Moses’ sister, asked Pharaoh’s daughter if she could get a Hebrew woman to take care of the baby for her! Today let’s read Exodus 2:7 and act out the scene with the Miriam and Pharaoh’s daughter coloring pages! Save these coloring pages for the next few lessons!
Then his sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?” – Exodus 2:7 NIV
Day 8
Miriam asked Pharaoh’s daughter if she could get someone to help take care of the baby, and she said yes! Miriam knew exactly who to pick to take care of him! His mom! Today let’s read Exodus 2:8 and act out the scene with the Miriam and Pharaoh’s daughter coloring pages! Save these coloring page for the next two lessons!
“Yes, go,” she answered. So the girl went and got the baby’s mother. – Exodus 2:8 NIV
Day 9
Pharaoh’s daughter told Moses’ mommy to take care of him. She would even pay her for doing it! Today let’s read Exodus 2:9 and act out the scene with the Moses’ mom and Pharaoh’s daughter!
Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.” So the woman took the baby and nursed him. – Exodus 2:9 NIV
Day 10
Moses’ mom took care of him for a little while, then she gave him back to Pharaoh’s daughter when he was older! Pharaoh’s daughter even named him! She called him Moses! Today let’s read Exodus 2:10 and cut out and color the older Moses coloring page and act out the scene with Moses, Pharaoh’s daughter and Moses’ mom.
When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of the water.” – Exodus 2:10 NIV
Day 11
Moses grew up in Pharaoh’s palace, but he still knew that he was a Hebrew! So one day he want to see his people and saw that they were working very hard! Today let’s read Exodus 2:11 and ask your Tiny Arrow if they were in Moses’ position, would they want to go and see their people, or stay at the palace?
One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. – Exodus 2:11 NIV
Day 12
Moses saw that there was an Egyptian beating a Hebrew. He looked around to make sure no one was watching and killed him! Oh no! Then he hid his body in the sand! Today let’s read Exodus 2:11-12 and grab a small toy and something your Tiny Arrow can bury it in. Close your eyes while your Tiny Arrow buries the toy, then when you open your eyes try to guess exactly where it is!
He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. – Exodus 2:13 NIV

Day 13
Moses saw two Hebrews fighting and asked them why they were hitting! The Hebrews did not say sorry, they asked him if he was in charge of them! Then they told Moses that they saw him killing the Egyptian! This made Moses scared! Today let’s read Exodus 2:14 and ask your Tiny Arrow if the Hebrew men were showing love to one another by hitting. No! Then ask them if Moses was showing love to the Egyptian by killing him. No! Moses realized people knew how he had been bad too! Encourage your Tiny Arrow again today that everyone should love their neighbor as themselves and have them encourage other people with Matthew 22:39 too!
The man said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “What I did must have become known.” – Exodus 2:14 NIV
Day 14
Pharaoh found out that Moses had killed an Egyptian and wanted to kill Moses now too! Moses had to run away to a new country! He made it all the way to Midian where he sat down by a well! Today let’s read Exodus 2:15 and have your Tiny Arrow run to a room that has a sink in it and to sit as close as they can to the faucet.
When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well. – Exodus 2:15 NIV
Day 15
Moses escaped Egypt and came to Midian! He went to a well and saw 7 sisters waiting to get water from the well for their animals! Some shepherds came and tried to make them go away, but Moses came to their rescue and watered their animals! Today let’s read Exodus 2:16-17 and help your Tiny Arrow get a cup of water from the faucet and give it to someone!
Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father’s flock. Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and watered their flock. – Exodus 2:16-17 NIV
Day 16
The girls who took care of their sheep finished their work early! So early that their dad asked them why they were so early. Today let’s read Exodus 2:18 and go over the work schedule of someone in your household or that they know. Explain that they might leave after breakfast and return during dinner time. But what if they returned one day before lunch time! That would be early!
When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, “Why have you returned so early today?” – Exodus 2:18 NIV
Day 17
The girls explained to their father that an Egyptian rescued them from the shepherds and even got them water for the flock! He helped them with their chores! Today let’s read Exodus 2:19 and have your child start to do a chore by themselves, then help them finish it. Then explain it went faster with someone helping! Just like it went faster for the girls!
They answered, “An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew water for us and watered the flock.” – Exodus 2:19 NIV
Day 18
The girls dad, Reuel wanted to thank Moses for helping, and told his daughters to invite him over for a meal! Today let’s read Exodus 2:20 and have your Tiny Arrow make you a snack as a thank you for helping them with their chores from the previous lesson!
“And where is he?” Reuel asked his daughters. “Why did you leave him? Invite him to have something to eat.” – Exodus 2:20 NIV
Day 19
Moses came to dinner and he even married one of the girls! Her name was Zipporah! Today let’s read Exodus 2:21 and color the coloring page! Save this for the next lesson!
Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage. – Exodus 1:21 NIV
Day 20
Moses married Zipporah and they had a baby boy! Moses named him Gershom! Today let’s read Exodus 2:22 and draw a baby boy by Moses and Zipporah on the previous lessons coloring page!
Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, “I have become a foreigner in a foreign land.” – Exodus 2:22 NIV
Day 21
While Moses was away the king of Egypt died. Even though the king died, the Israelites were still being slaves! They cried out to God and He heard them! Today let’s read Exodus 2:23 and have your Tiny Arrow cry out for help softly, then have them repeat it a few times, getting louder each time they say it! Just like the Israelites cried out for help!
During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. – Exodus 2:23 NIV
Day 22
God heard the Israelites crying out and he remembered what He had promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! He was concerned about them! Today let’s read Exodus 2:24-25 and Genesis 22:17-18, one of the promises God gave to Abraham!
God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them. – Exodus 2:24-25 NIV
Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me. – Genesis 22:17-18 NIV
Day 23
Today let’s reread Exodus 2 and remember some of the activity’s we did!
