Day 1
We ended Genesis 45, and now we are starting Genesis 46! In preparation for the lessons to come, let’s read all of Genesis 46 to your Tiny Arrows!
Day 2
Joseph asked his dad Jacob to come and move to Egypt and he did! When Jacob reached Beersheba he stopped! He wanted to offer a sacrifice to God there before he went to Egypt! Today let’s read Genesis 46:1 and talk about trips! When we go on a trip, sometimes the journey there is as important as the place we are going! Jacob wanted to worship God along the way! Today pretend to go on a “trip” designate a room or place to be your destination, and stop half way there and sing a worship song or say a prayer!
So Israel set out with all that was his, and when he reached Beersheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac. – Genesis 46:1 NIV
Day 3
The night that Jacob offered a sacrifice to God he had a vision! In the vision he heard God say his name and he responded with “Here I am!” Today let’s read Genesis 46:2 and have your Tiny Arrow close their eyes. Call out their name and encourage them to reply with “Here I am!”
And God spoke to Israel in a vision at night and said, “Jacob! Jacob!” “Here I am,” he replied. – Genesis 46:2 NIV
Day 4
In Jacob’s vision he heard God talking! God was telling Jacob who He was and to not be afraid! God said He would even make him a great nation while he is in Egypt! That’s amazing! Today let’s read Genesis 46:3 ask your Tiny Arrow the two things God told Jacob so far! To not fear and that he would be a great nation! Then read 2 Timothy 1:7 to your Tiny Arrow.
“I am God, the God of your father,” he said. “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.” – Genesis 46:3 NIV
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7 NIV
Day 5
God told Jacob not to fear and that he would be a great nation! Then God said He would go to Egypt with him and would bring him back! He even told Jacob that Joseph would be there when he died! Today let’s read Genesis 46:4 and travel with your Tiny Arrow to a designated spot inside or outside. Have that spot represent Egypt. Then tell them you are representing God going with Jacob to Egypt. Stay there for a minute or two then walk back and tell your Tiny Arrow that God was with him on the way to Egypt, while he was there and on his way back!
“I will go down to Egypt with you, and I will surely bring you back again. And Joseph’s own hand will close your eyes.” – Genesis 46:4 NIV
Day 6
Jacob and his entire family left Beersheba and went to Egypt! They traveled on the carts that Pharaoh had sent! Today let’s read Genesis 46:5 and grab a wagon, push car, bike or something for your child to ride on and have them ride alongside/behind you while you walk from one point to another. Just like Jacob’s family got to travel on carts!
Then Jacob left Beersheba, and Israel’s sons took their father Jacob and their children and their wives in the carts that Pharaoh had sent to transport him. – Genesis 46:5 NIV
Day 7
Jacob took his family, his livestock and everything they owned and went to Egypt! Today let’s read Genesis 46:6 and color the coloring page!
So Jacob and all his offspring went to Egypt, taking with them their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in Canaan. – Genesis 46:6 NIV
Day 8
Jacob brought all his sons, daughters and grandchildren with him to Egypt! His whole family! Today let’s read Genesis 46:7 and have your Tiny Arrow help you list everyone in your family. Then explain that Jacob took a trip with his whole family!

Day 9
Jacob went to Egypt with his whole family! His firstborn was named Reuben! Today let’s read Genesis 46:8 and write Reuben’s name on the coloring page! Save this for the next lesson too!

Day 10

Day 26
All of Jacob’s sons and their families living in Canaan got to go to Egypt! There were 66 people, not counting his son’s wives! Today let’s read Genesis 46:26 and have your Tiny Arrow count to 66!
All those who went to Egypt with Jacob—those who were his direct descendants, not counting his sons’ wives—numbered sixty-six persons. – Genesis 46:26 NIV
Day 27
There were 66 people in Jacob’s family who went to Egypt! If you count Joseph’s family too and everyone in Jacob’s family the total is 70! That’s a big family! Today let’s read Genesis 46:27 and count how many people are in your family and see if it is more or less than the 70 in Jacob’s family!
With the two sons who had been born to Joseph in Egypt, the members of Jacob’s family, which went to Egypt, were seventy in all. – Genesis 46:27 NIV
Day 28
Jacob was on his way to Egypt, but he needed directions to know where he was suppose to go! So Jacob sent his son Judah to go ask Joseph! With Joseph’s directions they made it to Goshen! Today let’s ready Genesis 46:28 and have your Tiny Arrow pretend to be Judah and you Joseph. Have them run up to you and ask you directions to Goshen! Tell them how to get to a certain room or area and watch them follow your directions until they get there!
Now Jacob sent Judah ahead of him to Joseph to get directions to Goshen. When they arrived in the region of Goshen. – Genesis 46:28 NIV
Day 29
Jospeh heard that his father had come to Goshen! His father was now in Egypt! Jospeh hurried to go meet him, and when he saw him he gave him a big hug and cried! Today let’s read Genesis 46:29 and have your Tiny Arrow run to you from a different room or place and give you a big hug!
Joseph had his chariot made ready and went to Goshen to meet his father Israel. As soon as Joseph appeared before him, he threw his arms around his father and wept for a long time. – Genesis 46:29 NIV
Day 30
Jacob was so happy to see Jospeh he told him he was ready to die because he got to see him one last time! Jacob had wanted to see Joseph one more time and he did! Today let’s read Genesis 46:30 and ask your Tiny Arrow something that meant a lot to them and that they would like to do again!
Israel said to Joseph, “Now I am ready to die, since I have seen for myself that you are still alive.” – Genesis 46:30 NIV
Day 31
Joseph’s family was in Egypt and he wanted to tell Pharaoh! He wanted to tell them they moved! Today let’s read Genesis 46:31 and have your Tiny Arrow fill out the information card! Have them pretend to write down where they moved from and too and give it to someone! Save the bottom half of the page for the next lesson!
Then Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s household, “I will go up and speak to Pharaoh and will say to him, ‘My brothers and my father’s household, who were living in the land of Canaan, have come to me. – Genesis 46:31 NIV
Day 32
Jospeh was going to tell Pharaoh his family moved to Egypt! He also wanted to tell him that they took care of livestock! Today let’s read Genesis 46:32 and fill out the rest of the information card by having your Tiny Arrow fill out their job! Save this card for the next lesson!
“‘The men are shepherds; they tend livestock, and they have brought along their flocks and herds and everything they own.’” – Genesis 46:32 NIV
Day 33
Jospeh was still talking to his family. He told them he would tell Pharaoh about them and wanted to tell them what Pharaoh would say. Pharaoh would ask them what their job was! Today let’s read Genesis 46:33-34 and have your Tiny Arrow pretend to be the brothers and you Pharaoh. Ask them were they moved from and what their job is and have your Tiny Arrow read, or tell you what’s on the card from the previous lessons!
When Pharaoh calls you in and asks, ‘What is your occupation?’ you should answer, ‘Your servants have tended livestock from our boyhood on, just as our fathers did.’ Then you will be allowed to settle in the region of Goshen, for all shepherds are detestable to the Egyptians.” – Genesis 46:33-34 NIV
